Olympic archery, It has been around since the 1900 Paris games, You don't see it often,only in the summer. But here is the interesting thing, change everywhere.

Archery made its way to Hollywood in the movie Robin Hood when he thinks he has lost when his opponent hits the target dead center. Robin draws back and splits his opponents arrow in half.

Now it is different. The bow is not so simple, it is now an Olympic game for both men and women. The bow also changed from a long bow to a recurve bow. A Compound Bow is used in the  games also.
The distance between the bow and target is 70 meters away. The highest amount of points you can get for one arrow is a ten and the least is a miss. If an arrow hits on the line the points go higher. The points go through 0 - 10.


Each archer shoots 72 arrows to  compete in competition for the team division. In the first three rounds of the individual competition archers shoot 18 arrows in groups of three. were in the quarterfinals, semifinals and medal matches, the archers each shoot 12 arrows.  Korean archer Kim Kyung Wook has amazed many people with her skill and is known world wide.

The Olympic bow is a Recurve Bow with many attachments such as a clicker, front and back stabilizers, v-bar and v-bar extender, arrow rest, nocking point, weights, sight and sight window and many more things to come. The reason for so many attachments is that in the olympics you want to be accurate.

The arrows parts are fletching(feathers),field point(tip),knock(end),carbon fiber or aluminum shaft(middle).The feather size is how long or short the archer wants it to be.

My Grandfather's Death: My Journal

2/23/12

I love my grand father so much. We used to do everything together. But things don't always end up how you want them to. He is in a hospital right at this moment. My mom left this morning to see him. He lives in fl0rida and we live in New Hampshire. He is well in his 70s and he has really bad arthritis and he also has pneumonia and if you dont know what that means well, he is dying. He has about a week and a half to live. My mom is crying every day, She talks on the phone allot and I think it is my grand mother she is talking to. but I dont know whats going to happen. Today I was crying in front of my whole class in a discution. I know he has a week..or less. I can just feel his thoughts, alone,scared,week,helpless. I have two friends or that I know of that I can trust, that can feel what i'm feeling, My friend Connor lost his grand father and he didnt get to say goodbye and my friend Ainslee who has lost her grand father without knowing him all that much. I hate the fact that I know when he is going to die. I have my whole class supporting me. I wrote a blog life not knowing any thing about him. But now I am here so I guess that back fired on me. Its 6:52 I am waiting for tomorow not knowing if if he is dead now or if I am saying this for nothing. I am glad to have a teacher who cares, her  name is ms small ( well that's what I call her),and she is my favorite teacher.

2/24/12

Today I am still scared for him but I got to talk to him on the phone and he sounded so confused. I was board so I was looking at pictures in my moms computer and I saw a ton of pictures of him and it sort of made me sad to see the pictures and to see my mom upset. I am going to my friend Griffins ( he is one of my best friends) he is taking me to open gym and I hope  that will take my mind  of of everything.

2/25/12

Today we are having a party with are relatives and we are going to skype him if he is strong  enough to talk. We now have everyone here and my dad said  we cant skype. My cousins and their boyfriends were board  so I said lets play pool  and they said okay. We played a few games and then my cousins left. Like five minutes later they came in the room. My cousin Jess just cried and I could see her mouth say their grandfather ( she pointed to me wile talking to her boyfriend ) is dead. Then I looked at my other cousin Julie and she was crying to. I went upstairs and a lot of people were gone.

The next day, my dad said that our mom will be back on Wednesday, I wonder what she will be thinking after all this. I cant wait ( not really ) to here the story of the sad adventure of  my grand father. I hope he is happy in.. Well you know.

Flea Flicker

One day I had  a  football game a against are rivals. We where  tie game 18 - 18. we where on offence and I yelled " HUDLE UP '' so the offence got in a huddle and are QB said flea flicker on one. "Ready break".
A flea flicker is when the center snaps the ball and the QB grabs the ball and pitches it to the running back.Now the running  back flicks ( pitches) the ball back to the QB and the QB passes the  up the field for the touchdown.
We only use this play when it is needed. if you want to see a flea flicker play watch this.

bullying

I read a blog about bullies and it was a blog by Griffin Getting Bullied.
In the blog he said 2 on 4, he had 2. Well, I was that second person and it was not fun.He is not lying, all he said was true. 1 of the 4 was chasing him around with a plastic bottle and when they got Griffin down, they were kicking him so I couldn't take it anymore so I grabbed them by their shoulders and threw them to the ground and stood there so they couldn't touch him any more. Then it happened " L.I.T.T.L.E"
I knew that Griffin hates being called little and he was mad. The kids ran away and Griffin was crying and then the kids mom saw Griffin crying and said " What's going on?" I said the certain  someone was picking on him and then she made the boys apologize and when the kids left their sister came and kicked dirt in Griffin's eye and then left. It was a short day after that and then we all went home.
